Actor and filmmaker George Clooney has been in the spotlight for decades, but when it comes to his personal life with wife Amal Clooney, he says things have been remarkably peaceful.
In an interview aired on CBS Mornings on Monday, April 21, George, 63, shared that he and Amal, 47, have never had a fight. “We’re still trying to find something to argue about,” he told anchor Gayle King with a smile. “I think because I started so late with Amal.”
The couple married in September 2014 and are parents to 7-year-old twins, Alexander and Ella.
“I Hit the Jackpot”
George couldn’t help but gush about Amal, a prominent human rights lawyer. “I feel so extraordinarily lucky to have met this incredible woman,” he said. “There isn’t a day that goes by where I don’t think I’m the luckiest man in the world.”
Now based in New York City, the couple is embracing a new chapter with their children. “They’ve got a school [in NYC] that they like and are having fun at,” George shared. “Amal and I are having a really great time in life. … Our kids are really curious and funny. They make us laugh.”
Balancing Parenthood and Broadway
While George juggles parenting with his return to Broadway in Good Night, and Good Luck, which opened earlier this month at the Winter Garden Theatre, he says the joy of family life keeps him grounded.
George not only stars in the play as famed journalist Edward R. Murrow, but also wrote the script, based on the 2005 film he directed. For the role, he dyed his signature silver hair dark brown—something he admitted he’s still getting used to.

“Oh, it’s not good. I’m not used to it,” he laughed. “I started getting gray when I was 25, so I’ve been gray most of my life. My wife thinks it’s funny. So do the kids. They laugh at it because nothing makes you look older than being 63 and dyeing your hair.”
Amal wasn’t present for the play’s official opening night, with George explaining she stayed home with the twins. Still, insiders say the couple is loving their time in the city.
Life in New York

According to a source close to the family, George and Amal have been enjoying a more social side of life since settling in NYC. “They usually don’t spend that much time in the city, so they’ve been reconnecting with friends and hosting a few private dinner parties,” the insider revealed.
Despite their fame, the Clooneys are known for keeping things low-key. “They are very much a couple who enjoys more private date nights,” the source added.
With over a decade of marriage and a strong family bond, George and Amal Clooney continue to show that love, respect, and a sense of humor go a long way.
