Jill Zarin has been fired from E!’s new Real Housewives of New York City docuseries, The Golden Life.

The news comes just two days after the reality star faced intense backlash for making racist comments about Bad Bunny’s 2026 Super Bowl halftime show performance.

The Production Decision

On Tuesday, Feb. 10, the producers behind The Golden Life, Blink49 Studios, released a statement to PEOPLE confirming Zarin’s exit. She will no longer join fellow RHONY OGs Luann de Lesseps, Ramona Singer, Kelly Bensimon, and Sonja Morgan in the project.

“In light of recent public comments made by Jill Zarin, Blink49 Studios has decided not to move forward with her involvement in The Golden Life. We remain committed to delivering the series in line with our company standards and values.”

The Controversial Comments

In a since-deleted video posted to her Instagram on Super Bowl Sunday, Zarin called Bad Bunny’s performance “the worst halftime show ever.”

Her criticism specifically targeted the use of Spanish during the performance.

“It’s 250 years that we’re celebrating right now in the United States, and I just don’t think it was appropriate to have it in Spanish.”

Zarin also criticized the artist for “grabbing himself every five seconds,” asking if he was “insecure.” She further claimed the performance “looked like a political statement” and called it a “shame” that the NFL had “sold out.”

Fallout from Zarin Fabrics

The backlash extended beyond the production studio. On Monday, Feb. 9, Zarin Fabrics, the New York City store once owned by Zarin’s late husband Bobby, publicly distanced itself from her.

The company posted a photo of Zarin to Instagram with a red “X” over her face. They clarified that she has not held ownership or association with the brand for several years.

“Zarin Fabrics stands firmly against racism, discrimination, and rhetoric that seeks to exclude or diminish people based on identity, culture, or background.”

About ‘The Golden Life’

The Golden Life is set to begin filming in the spring. It will follow de Lesseps, Singer, Bensimon, and Morgan as they navigate life in Palm Beach, Florida.

The series promises to showcase the “golden era” of these longtime friends as they enjoy fabulous second homes and a bustling social scene. However, they will now do so without Jill Zarin.
