Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri has finally addressed the growing speculation surrounding his next major film. Amid reports linking him to a movie about Operation Sindoor, the director confirmed he is working on a “big nationalistic project.”
While Agnihotri refused to officially confirm the title, the buzz around a potential collaboration with T-Series is growing louder.

The “Big Nationalistic Project”
Speaking to the media, Agnihotri remained tight-lipped about the specifics. However, he did acknowledge the scale of his next venture.
“I am not disclosing any name,” Agnihotri stated. “I am saying I am working on a big nationalistic project, and I will announce it at my own time. It’s very big, very interesting.”
Reports from Pinkvilla suggest that Agnihotri has teamed up with producer Bhushan Kumar for a film tentatively titled Operation Sindoor. If true, this would mark a significant collaboration between Agnihotri’s “I Am Buddha” production house and the industry giant T-Series, which is currently riding high on the success of Border 2.
What is Operation Sindoor?

The rumored subject matter is sensitive and significant. Operation Sindoor was the codename for India’s targeted military strikes on terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK).
These strikes were a calibrated military response following a tragic event on April 22, 2025, when innocent civilians and tourists were massacred in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. The operation aimed to dismantle terror launchpads and prevent further cross-border infiltration.
Agnihotri’s Track Record
Vivek Agnihotri is no stranger to hard-hitting, real-life subjects. His previous directorial venture, The Bengal Files, was released in September 2025 and sparked widespread debate. Before that, he gained massive commercial and critical attention with The Kashmir Files.
If the reports hold true, Operation Sindoor would continue his trend of exploring recent Indian history and national security issues. For now, fans must wait for the official announcement to see if the director is indeed bringing the events of April 2025 to the big screen.
