Rita Moreno has won a lot of awards over her 80-year career — and she has a special place for them all in her home.
While stepping out to the 2026 Día de Muertos Gala in Los Angeles on Oct. 27, the actress, 94, told PEOPLE exclusively that she keeps all her awards in one room.
“I have won so much stuff,” she said at the gala, an annual event educating the L.A. community on Latino culture in celebration of the traditional holiday. I have one room where they all sit.”
Moreno is one of a small group of stars who are EGOT winners, meaning they have won all four major American entertainment awards: an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar and a Tony. She completed her prestigious EGOT in 1977 when she won a Primetime Emmy Award for her appearance on The Muppet Show.
Moreno took home an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for West Side Story in 1962, a Grammy for Best Recording for Children/Best Children’s Album for The Electric Company in 1972 and a Tony for Best Featured Actress in a Play for The Ritz in 1975. She won a second Emmy in 1978 for Outstanding Lead Actress for a Single Appearance in a Drama or Comedy Series for her role in an episode of The Rockford Files.
Moreno has also received many more awards and accolades throughout her career, which began when she was a child and has spanned the stage and the screen.
