Hannah Waddingham Makes Red Carpet Debut with Boyfriend Nick Beresford-Cleary

Hannah Waddingham and her boyfriend Nick Beresford-Cleary have made their red carpet debut.

The spine surgeon accompanied the Ted Lasso star at the Variety Power of Women: London event on Wednesday, June 3. The 51-year-old actress was one of the five honorees, alongside Cynthia ErivoEmilia ClarkeSuki Waterhouse and Emma Corrin.

At the event, she wore a black halter-neck gown with a plunging neckline and high center slit, while Beresford-Cleary sported a sophisticated black tuxedo.

The June red carpet debut comes after the pair were photographed holding hands in March. The couple attended the Gold Day of the 2026 Cheltenham Festival on March 13.

“He delivers a high volume elective and emergency spine practice encompassing all aspects of adult spinal surgery, including degenerative pathologies, spinal trauma, spinal oncology, and adult spinal deformity,” the physician’s bio reads. “His expertise is in degenerative disc disease, radiculopathy, back pain, sciatica, myelopathy, spondylolisthesis, spinal trauma, oncology and deformity.”

He has “extensive experience in robotics and navigation in spinal surgery,” per the bio.

Before Waddingham was linked to Beresford-Cleary, she dated Italian businessman Gianluca Cugnetto. During their relationship, they welcomed their daughter, Kitty, in 2014, and split when Kitty was 2.5 years old, the actress told Glamour UK in October 2023.

She told the outlet that she was “still on good terms with [her] daughter’s father.” Waddingham said at the time that their split “felt like the rug was pulled from underneath me.”

“But I had to make the decision not to be weakened by it,” she said. “I distinctly remember feeling like my daughter and I were on an upturned dustbin lid, like a flying saucer, holding on for dear life – until the waters were calmer!”

She shared that being a single mother impacted her dating life, confessing, “I am quite picky.”

“I feel like being a single mother is the greatest contraception on the planet,” she joked. “I have a shorter fuse for bulls–t now. I know that someone will come along who likes a strong, opinionated woman, and is inspired by it rather than terrified!”
