Melissa Rycroft Strickland, a former contestant on “The Bachelor” and “Dancing with the Stars” and a one-time Dallas Cowboys cheerleader, was arrested after police said she hit a Southlake Fire Department ambulance and left the scene.
Rycroft Strickland, 43, was arrested on Halloween and charged with driving while intoxicated, a collision involving property damage and driving with an invalid license, according to Southlake police. Her bond was set at $9,000.
The crash happened at about 6 p.m. Oct. 31 at South Peytonville Avenue and Chimney Works Drive.
Police said the ambulance was stopped at a stop sign when another vehicle struck it and drove away. No injuries were reported.
Investigators said they identified Rycroft Strickland as the hit-and-run driver and took her into custody.
In an earlier case, she was arrested and charged with DWI in September 2025 after she allegedly drove a Cadillac Escalade into a tree. She pleaded guilty and was sentenced to probation, CBS Texas reported.
“Life really sucks right now and I’m struggling,” she said at the time, “but I’m trying to march forward.”
Rycroft Strickland was a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader from 2006 to 2008 and appeared on the Country Music Television (CMT) reality show “Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making The Team.” She went on to appear as a contestant in the 13th season of “The Bachelor” and in two seasons of “Dancing with the Stars.”
In 2012, she and her husband, Tye Strickland, starred in their own reality show, “Melissa & Tye,” which ran for one season on CMT. In 2018, the couple launched a podcast on YEA Networks called “Logically Irrational.”
