The Princess of Pop has officially cashed in. Britney Spears has signed a massive new music deal, selling the rights to her extensive music catalog.

According to legal documents obtained by TMZ, the superstar sold her ownership share to the music publishing giant Primary Wave.

The Price Tag: A “Landmark Deal”

While the documents do not reveal the exact dollar amount, sources describe the agreement as a “landmark deal.” Insiders place the value in the ballpark of the $200 million deal Justin Bieber signed when he sold his own catalog.

Britney, managed by Cade Hudson, finalized the sale on December 30. Sources say she is happy with the agreement and has been celebrating by spending time with her children.

What is Included?

The deal covers a massive list of hits that defined a generation. Primary Wave now holds the rights to iconic tracks including:

  • “…Baby One More Time”
  • “(You Drive Me) Crazy”
  • “Oops!… I Did It Again”
  • “Toxic”
  • “Gimme More”
  • “Womanizer”
  • “Till The World Ends”

Joining the Trend

Britney joins a growing list of legendary artists who have sold their music catalogs in recent years. This exclusive club includes heavyweights like Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, Shakira, and Stevie Nicks.

Incidentally, Stevie Nicks also sold an 80% stake in her publishing catalog to Primary Wave back in 2020. At the time, her copyrights were reportedly valued at about $100 million.
