Adam Levine Jokes He’s Ready to ‘Quit’ After Heart-Wrenching Knockout Round on ‘The Voice’

During the Monday, April 7 episode of The Voice, the Maroon 5 frontman faced a brutal knockout round. Two of his team members, Ari Camille and Britton Moore, delivered powerful performances that left him torn.

“It’s that time again,” Adam, 46, said in a confessional. “I’ve got to put good people against good people. It sucks. But that’s how I know the winner of this round can really go far.”

Ari, 21, sang a soulful version of “Love Like This” by Faith Evans, while Britton, also 21, went country with “Free” by the Zac Brown Band.

Coach Kelsea Ballerini was too impressed to choose a winner. Michael Bublé couldn’t believe both singers were only 21. John Legend added, “Both of you earned the right to not leave this competition.”

Faced with the tough decision, Adam admitted, “You both did exactly what needed to be done. That’s great for you, terrible for me.” As host Carson Daly waited for his call, Adam joked, “I quit. Don’t ask me.”

Eventually, Adam picked Britton as the winner. But before Ari could even walk offstage, John Legend used his steal. “She’s got star power,” he said. “She’s back on Team Legend. Come on home!”

With both singers still in the game, this season is shaping up to be one of the toughest—and most exciting—yet.
