A man was bitten by a scorpion on his testicles while asleep at a hotel in Las Vegas

A resident of Agora Hills, California, Michael Farchi, has filed a lawsuit against a luxury Las Vegas resort, alleging that he was stung by a scorpion on his testicles while sleeping in his room on December 26. Describing the incident to KLAS, Farchi expressed feeling like someone was stabbing him in his private area, equating the sensation to that of sharp glass or a knife.

Upon visiting the restroom, Farchi discovered a scorpion hanging on his underwear. He mentioned not inquiring about how the arachnid entered the room, emphasizing that no one informed him of any precautions or options regarding scorpions.

Farchi proceeded to file a medical incident report with the hotel, detailing the scorpion bite on his groin/testicles and the significant pain it caused him. In a subsequent interview with Los Angeles news station KABC, he disclosed experiencing the sting multiple times, waking up to sharp pain and subsequently feeling another sharp pain upon investigation under the covers.

Following the incident, Farchi and his family checked out of the hotel the next day, with the hotel covering the cost of their room. According to reports, Farchi filed a medical incident report with the hotel, corroborating his hospital diagnosis of a scorpion sting in the groin area.

As per Mayo Clinic, scorpion stings typically cause pain but seldom pose life-threatening risks. Nevertheless, younger children and older adults are particularly vulnerable to experiencing complications arising from a scorpion sting.
