Taylor Frankie Paul‘s ex-husband Tate Paul is seeking a temporary restraining order against the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star.
Tate, 34, filed a motion for a temporary restraining order against Taylor, 32, in a Utah court on Tuesday, June 30, according to court documents obtained by PEOPLE. The pair, who share a daughter, Indy, 8, and a son, Ocean, 6, were married from 2016 to 2022.
In addition to his restraining order, Tate also filed a petition to modify the terms of their divorce and custody agreement.

Tate’s filing comes after he commented on his co-parenting relationship with Taylor on June 3. “My co-parenting relationship has been peaceful for the most part,” he wrote in the comments of a livestream hosted by Cru Eaton, who the roommate of Paul’s ex-boyfriend Dakota Mortensen. “The last few months has been not so.”
At the time, a source close to Taylor told PEOPLE that Taylor and Tate, “have always been a strong team.” The source added that, “The last few months have, of course, complicated their co-parenting dynamic, but they’re navigating it together. She’s committed to maintaining a strong relationship with him and tackling the challenges that have arisen.”

Tate’s June 30 court action follows news that police in Bluffdale, Utah, are investigating whether Taylor violated a restraining order against Mortensen, 33. The reality TV star has a restraining order of her own against her Mortensen, with whom she shares a two-year-old son, Ever.
On March 16, the Draper Police Department confirmed to PEOPLE that Taylor and Mortensen were involved in an open “domestic assault investigation” pertaining to incidents that occurred Feb. 24 and 25.
Amid news of the investigation, TMZ published footage from a 2023 incident involving the former couple, in which Taylor was seen yelling and throwing chairs at Mortensen while a child was nearby. She was arrested for alleged domestic violence in February 2023. She pled guilty in abeyance to aggravated assault. If the TV personality complies with the conditions of the plea, that charge will be dismissed. The other charges have already been dismissed.
As Taylor and Mortensen’s domestic assault continued, he filed for a protective order against her on March 19, according to court documents obtained by PEOPLE. In response, she filed for a protective order on April 7.
On April 14, prosecutors announced that they would not be pursuing charges against Taylor. Weeks later, on April 30, the orders were mutually granted for a term of three years.
That same day, the judge kept the custody arrangement in place, granting Mortensen custody of Ever. Taylor was permitted up to 8 hours per week of visitation, supervised by a paid supervisor or someone vetted by the guardian ad litem.

Just over a month later, on June 1, a judge lifted mandatory supervision for Taylor’s parent time with Ever. The judge also issued Taylor custody of Ever on the same midweek day each week without overnights as well as alternating weekends. The judge said that Mortensen will remain the “custodial parent” on holidays.
Then, on Tuesday, June 30, PEOPLE confirmed Taylor voluntarily entered a rehab facility “upon the recommendation of her doctor,” and has since departed, a source said. TMZ first reported the news.
“She’s committed to getting better,” the source said.
Another source told PEOPLE that “The people around Taylor want her to get help,” adding that those around her “want to see her get better.” The insider said, “Everyone is just trying to protect the kids.”
