Sai Pallavi has made a name for herself in South cinema with her bold choices. However, one of her most surprising decisions came when she rejected a role in Leo, the action thriller starring Thalapathy Vijay. Despite the film’s massive success and a global box office gross of Rs 623 crore, Sai Pallavi chose not to be part of it.
The Reason Behind Her Decision
According to a 2023 Times of India interview, Sai Pallavi was approached to play Sathya Parthiban, Vijay’s on-screen wife. Though Leo was a highly exciting project, Sai Pallavi felt her role lacked significance. She wanted both lead characters to have equal importance in the film. When that didn’t align with her expectations, she decided to walk away from the film.
Trisha Krishnan Takes Over

After Sai Pallavi’s exit, Trisha Krishnan took on the role of Sathya Parthiban. The movie went on to become a massive success, becoming one of Thalapathy Vijay’s defining films. Leo grossed Rs 623 crore worldwide, proving to be a major hit despite Sai Pallavi’s absence.
Vijay’s Final Film and Sai Pallavi’s Upcoming Projects
Thalapathy Vijay is currently working on his final film, Jana Nayagan, which is set to release in 2026. Afterward, he plans to step away from acting and focus on his political career, a decision that has created much excitement among his fans.
Meanwhile, Sai Pallavi recently starred in Thandel, a Telugu survival drama that was a box-office hit. She is also set to appear opposite Ranbir Kapoor in Nitesh Tiwari’s upcoming adaptation of the Ramayana, a highly anticipated project currently in production.
