The international television community mourns the sudden passing of Dana Eden. She was the acclaimed Israeli producer and co-creator of the hit espionage thriller Tehran.
Police found Eden lifeless in her Athens hotel room on Sunday, February 16. She was 52. She traveled to the Greek capital to oversee filming for the show’s fourth season.
Tragic Discovery in Athens
According to The Times of Israel, her brother discovered her body. He went looking when she failed to respond to messages. Local authorities launched an immediate investigation.

A Titan of Israeli Television
Eden was a central figure in Israel’s entertainment industry. She produced over 40 series and films with her professional partner Shula Spiegel. These included The Magpie, The Stylist, and the hit children’s series Shakshouka.
Her crowning achievement, Tehran, won an International Emmy Award for Best Drama Series. Apple TV+ later acquired the show, bringing Israeli storytelling to a massive global audience.
Kan, the Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation, released a statement honoring her legacy:
“Dana was among the senior figures in Israel’s television industry… Her professional and personal legacy will continue to shape Israeli television for many years to come.”
