Karen Silva, a beloved former semi-finalist on The Voice Kids Brazil, has passed away at just 17. She died after suffering a hemorrhagic stroke.
Karen rose to fame in 2020, when she was only 12 years old. Her powerful voice made her a fan favorite across the country.

Sudden Health Crisis

Karen’s father, Fernando Sergio da Silva, said she had shown “no signs of illness” before the incident. “She left home to have lunch on Friday, and three hours later she was in a coma,” he told local media.
The cause of her death was confirmed as a hemorrhagic stroke, which results from bleeding in the brain due to the rupture of a blood vessel.

A Life of Music and Empowerment

Karen began taking singing lessons at the age of eight and made a lasting impression on The Voice Kids with her rendition of “Oh Happy Day” by Edward Hawkins. She was more than just a performer—she became a symbol of empowerment for many young girls in Brazil, especially within the Black community.

2025 was meant to be a breakthrough year for Karen. She had plans for launching her own clothing brand and recording new music for her debut album. Her sudden passing has left those dreams unfulfilled, but her memory lives on through her voice and the inspiration she offered to countless fans.
