Reese Witherspoon and Oliver Haarmann Step Out in Matching Pink for Rare Date Night: They’re ‘Very Much in Love’ (Exclusive)

Reese Witherspoon and Oliver Haarmann are “very much in love,” a source tells PEOPLE.

The Morning Show actress, 50, stepped out with her financier boyfriend at the June 23 premiere of Prime Video’s Elle, a spinoff series about Witherspoon’s iconic Legally Blonde character in high school.

The couple, who have been linked since 2024, matched in pink outfits. While Witherspoon donned a bright pink lace dress — à la Elle Woods — Haarmann, 58, wore a matching pink tie over a white collared shirt and navy suit jacket.

The outing marked the couple’s first major public appearance together. The two were all smiles at the event, holding hands as they were photographed off the carpet.

“Reese and Oliver are very private, they don’t do PDA and both agree they don’t want the world in their personal lives,” a Witherspoon source tells PEOPLE. “They are very committed to each other and supportive of each other.”

While Haarmann supported Witherspoon, an executive producer on Elle, at the premiere, the two prefer to keep their relationship out of the public eye, the source says.

“They would much rather have a night at home together or small dinner parties they have thrown for their friends to meet,” they add. “When they’re together it’s clear they are both very sharp, they both have similar intelligent energies and it really is beautiful for her friends to see. Reese and Oliver have been meeting each other’s friends and families over the last few months and are very much in love.”

Witherspoon and Haarmann were first linked in July 2024 when they were spotted having dinner at L’Artusi in New York.

In September 2025, a source told PEOPLE that Witherspoon’s relationship “is very special to her.” “He’s not interested in the Hollywood spotlight. He’s there for her,” they said.

The source added that Haarmann is “very supportive of her.”

Both Haarmann and Witherspoon were previously married. The actress was first married to actor Ryan Phillippe, with whom she welcomed daughter Ava, 26, and son Deacon, 22. She shares son Tennessee, 13, with ex-husband Jim Toth, whom she divorced in 2023. Haarmann shares two children with his ex-wife.

Deacon was also by his mom’s side at the Elle premiere, posing with her on the carpet before attending the after-party with her and Haarmann.
