Fans of FOX’s hit cooking competition saw double this week. Gordon Ramsay brought a very special guest to the set of Next Level Chef: his 6-year-old son, Oscar!
The adorable father-son duo teamed up to introduce this week’s nostalgia-themed cooking challenge. Between the matching outfits and the intense kitchen showdowns, here is everything you missed during the latest episode.
Fans See Double with a “New Judge”
Before the episode aired, Ramsay teased fans on Instagram with photos of his second-youngest child sitting at the judges’ table.
Ramsay captioned the post, “There’s a new judge on @nextlevelcheffox panel tomorrow. What a dude @oscarjramsay!!!!”

Fans immediately flooded the comments to point out the striking family resemblance. Both Gordon and 6-year-old Oscar sported matching spiked hairstyles, crisp white shirts, dark blazers, and jeans. Followers quickly dubbed the little boy Gordon’s ultimate “mini-me” and “twin.”
The Nostalgia Challenge
Oscar’s appearance perfectly tied into the theme of the night. The chefs received exactly 30 minutes to reimagine nostalgic childhood flavors. They had to elevate simple, kid-friendly meals into absolute culinary masterpieces.
Chef Connor Caine dominated the first round. He created a stunning, elevated version of chicken and waffles. This major win pulled Team Arrington out of the dreaded basement and secured them the top-level kitchen for next week.
A Tough Elimination Cook-Off

Unfortunately, not everyone survived the childhood theme. Mentors Gordon Ramsay and Richard Blais sent Amber Kellehan and Tim Laielli to face off in the final elimination challenge.
Producers threw a massive curveball at the bottom two chefs. They received 25 minutes to cook a dish using ingredients that kids notoriously avoid. The tricky ingredient list included:
- Brussels sprouts
- Broccoli
- Liver and onions
- Squab (pigeon)
Tim Laielli ultimately struggled with the squab. He admitted he did not even know what the bird was before the challenge began. The judges ultimately eliminated the 35-year-old Texas chef. Despite the loss, Tim left the kitchen in good spirits, calling the show the “coolest experience” of his life.
You can catch new episodes of Next Level Chef on Thursday nights at 8 p.m. ET on FOX, or stream them the next day on Hulu.
