Kayla Nicole Blasts Social Media Trolls in Pointed Podcast Chat: ‘Need to Be Psych Evaluated’

The sports journalist and influencer recently opened up about her approach to handling internet trolls during a guest appearance on Monday’s episode of the “Straight to Cam” podcast with co-hosts Cameron Brink and Sydel Curry-Lee.

Logging Out: Kayla’s First Line of Defense

Nicole, 33, shared her number one strategy for dealing with negativity online. “No. 1 is just logging the f–k out,” she admitted bluntly.

“When it becomes too much, I just have to log out,” she explained. “Because it’s not the real world—there’s life happening beyond the internet.”

Calling Out Anonymous Trolls

The Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test alum also criticized social media users who hide behind fake accounts to spread hate.

“I also think people need to start doing psych evaluations before you can create a new Instagram account with a fake profile and a weird picture,” Nicole stated. “You should have to be psych evaluated!”

Nicole, who has been in the spotlight since her highly publicized breakup with Travis Kelce, has faced increased scrutiny and online backlash—especially since Kelce went public with Taylor Swift in September 2023.

Reddit: The Epicenter of Online Hate?

Brink jokingly suggested that internet “weirdos” should have their own social media platform. In response, Nicole pointed the finger at Reddit as a hub for negativity.

“I see someone in my comments at least once a week [saying], like, ‘Girl, they are going in on you on Reddit!’” she shared.

Nicole, however, refuses to engage with the negativity. “Why are you over there on Reddit, anyway?” she questioned. “I don’t even look. I can’t.”

Despite the constant online chatter, Nicole continues to focus on her career and personal growth, making it clear that she won’t let internet trolls define her narrative.
