Kanye West is officially setting the record straight about his highly anticipated upcoming album, Bully. On Wednesday, the polarizing rapper took to social media to reveal the official 13-song tracklist. Most notably, he explicitly attached a bold caption to the announcement: “BULLY ON THE WAY NO AI.”
This emphatic statement is currently making waves across the music industry. Specifically, it completely contradicts his very own recent claims about utilizing artificial intelligence in the recording studio. Here is a full breakdown of the flip-flop, the album’s delays, and West’s recent public apologies.

The Great AI Flip-Flop
West’s sudden rejection of artificial intelligence comes as a massive surprise to fans. Just last year, he sat down for a highly publicized interview with Justin LaBoy and openly championed the controversial technology.
At the time, West compared AI directly to Auto-Tune. He insisted it was simply a helpful tool rather than a replacement for genuine human creativity. Furthermore, viewers noticed him utilizing Audimee—a platform that allows users to transform their vocals royalty-free—during the interview’s accompanying video. He also bragged about using AI stem splitters to easily isolate vocals and bass lines for his engineers.
However, his team is now aggressively changing the narrative. Recently, close associates, including music manager Peter Jideonwo and former Yeezy chief of staff Milo Yiannopoulos, have publicly backed up West’s new claim that Bully is completely AI-free.
Missed Release Dates and Teasers
Fans have been eagerly awaiting this project since West first teased it in September 2024. During a set in Haikou, China, he previewed the early track “Beauty and the Beast.” Since then, he also released a short film on X (formerly Twitter) titled Bully V1, which starred his son, Saint West, and featured several tracks from the newly revealed tracklist.
Originally, West confirmed Bully would officially drop on March 20 via the independent music company Gamma. Unfortunately, that date came and went without any new music. As of right now, he has yet to confirm an updated release schedule.
A Tumultuous Two Years
This chaotic album rollout follows an incredibly dark and controversial period for the artist. In late 2024, two separate plaintiffs accused West of sexual assault and battery. Shortly after, in early 2025, he sparked intense global outrage after calling himself a “Nazi” and a “racist” in a series of disturbing online posts.
In an attempt to make amends, West took out a full-page ad in the Wall Street Journal this past January. He issued a public apology for his erratic behavior, attributing his severe actions to bipolar disorder and a previously undiagnosed frontal-lobe injury sustained during his famous 2002 car crash.
“I’m not asking for sympathy, or a free pass, though I aspire to earn your forgiveness,” West wrote in the ad. “I write today simply to ask for your patience and understanding as I find my way home.”
