Jennifer Lopez and Edward James Olmos Reunite for Netflix’s ‘Office Romance’

Jennifer Lopez is set to reunite with her Selena movie co-star Edward James Olmos in an upcoming Netflix film, bringing their on-screen chemistry full circle.

“From Selena to now, this journey has come full circle… SWIPE to see the big news. We’re thrilled to welcome the incredible Edward James Olmos to Office Romance!” Lopez, 55, wrote in an Instagram post on Thursday, March 27.

The caption included a nostalgic throwback photo of Lopez and Olmos from Selena, along with a recent snap of the two together.

A Father-Daughter Reunion on Screen

Olmos, 78, will portray Lopez’s character’s father in Office Romance, a romantic comedy written by Ted Lasso creators Brett Goldstein and Joe Kelly. According to a report by Deadline in September 2024, Lopez will also serve as a producer on the film. This project marks another significant milestone in her multifaceted career.

This film will be the second time Olmos and Lopez play a father-daughter duo on-screen. Their first collaboration was in the 1997 biopic Selena, where Olmos played Abraham Quintanilla, the father of the legendary Tejano singer Selena Quintanilla-Pérez.

“Edward James Olmos will play Jennifer Lopez’s father (again!) in Office Romance, her new movie with Brett Goldstein,” Netflix announced via Instagram on Thursday.

Behind-the-Scenes Sneak Peek

Lopez delighted fans with an exclusive behind-the-scenes glimpse of the film in an Instagram reel shared on Saturday, March 22. The video started with two production team members speaking directly to the camera: “Rolling… Hey, can you watch our boss for a second?”

Moments later, Lopez appeared, momentarily puzzled before flashing a smile. “What are you doing?” she asked before warmly greeting fans with a simple “Hi.”

With Office Romance in production, audiences eagerly await the return of Lopez and Olmos on screen. Their heartfelt father-daughter dynamic promises to add an emotional depth to this highly anticipated film.
