Jason Kelce’s Mixed Emotions After Super Bowl LIX

Jason Kelce is celebrating a bittersweet Super Bowl victory for his former team, the Philadelphia Eagles. The 37-year-old was at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans on Sunday, February 9, when the Eagles defeated his brother, Travis Kelce, and the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22. Following the big game, Jason shared his feelings in a lengthy X post on February 11.

Praising the Eagles’ Victory

“Congratulations to the Philadelphia Eagles, my former teammates, and friends on being SB LIX Champions!!” Jason began.

He admitted that the game was difficult for him to watch. “I knew it was going to be mixed emotions before, during, and after,” he said. “I now know what my parents had to deal with two years ago.” Jason expressed his admiration for both his brother and the Eagles, acknowledging the conflicting emotions he felt.

“I wanted the best for my brother and his success. But I also care deeply about the Eagles organization, many of whom I owe my own success to,” Jason wrote.

He praised the Eagles’ performance, noting their perseverance and grit. “I am very proud for Jalen Hurts, Nick Sirianni, and the entire team,” Jason continued. “They have proven themselves to be the best team this season, and it’s tough for any team to achieve enough talent, coaching, fortune, and character to win a Super Bowl.”

Travis Kelce’s Heartfelt Performance

However, Jason’s victory celebrations were bittersweet, as they came at the expense of Travis. “There isn’t a person I love or care about more,” he wrote about his brother. “It’s tough to process these feelings. I feel for him, and I am always rooting for him. But I know he doesn’t want my pity.”

Jason acknowledged Travis’ greatness and his team’s achievements, stating, “Travis has amassed greatness few on this planet could ever dream of. His team should feel proud of their accomplishments this season.”

Despite the tough loss, Jason believes time will heal the pain. “In time, the shortcomings of this game will fade, and the greatness they exhibited as a group will remain as one of the most dominant eras of football.”

A Celebration of Family and Football

Jason ended his post by expressing his love for the sport. “Man, I love this sport, the people that play it, and the fans that enjoy it. Nothing else like it.”

“Congratulations, Philadelphia! I look forward to the speeches and celebrations in the coming days. Who doesn’t love a parade?” he added, quoting Chase Utley: “World F—ing Champs.”

Jason also had a message for the haters, referencing Jay Ajayi’s words: “F–k ‘Em… Go Birds.”
