Comedian Deon Cole had a rough week, sharing with fans that he was hospitalized on his 53rd birthday and later had to evacuate his Los Angeles home because of the ongoing wildfires in the area.
On January 9, Deon took to Instagram to reveal his hospitalization. While he didn’t disclose the specific reason, he expressed gratitude for the birthday wishes from his followers.

“Thank you all for your birthday well wishes. I sure could use them,” he wrote, sharing a photo of himself in a hospital bed, wearing a mask and hooked to monitors. Celebrities like Jamie Foxx, Nick Cannon, Kenya Barris, and Busta Rhymes showed their support in the comments.
Just a day later, on January 10, Deon posted a video from his car, explaining that he had to evacuate his Los Angeles home due to the fast-moving wildfires.
In his emotional post, he described the heartbreaking experience of packing up cherished items, including flowers gifted by his late mother, who passed away in 2021.
“This day is devastating!” Deon wrote, explaining how he left the hospital while still feeling unwell and witnessed the fire rapidly approaching his home. “It’s a nightmare! I could see the flames rising behind my house.”
The fires also forced Deon Cole to cancel his birthday party, which was planned at his home.
“It doesn’t feel right to celebrate while so many people are losing their homes,” he shared in another Instagram post. He asked his followers to pray for the families affected by the wildfires.
