Craig Conover has officially moved on. The Southern Charm star, 36, confirmed that he is dating someone new following his split from Paige DeSorbo during his appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on March 27.
“I’m very happy,” Conover stated, appearing alongside his Southern Charm costars Shep Rose and Austen Kroll. “When I date, I tend to date only one person at a time. I’ve been seeing someone. I’ve been reminded that the universe works in crazy ways and everything happens for a reason.”
Tensions Between Conover and DeSorbo Post-Breakup
This marks Conover’s first public relationship since he and Summer House star Paige DeSorbo ended their three-year romance in November. Although the breakup initially seemed amicable, both have made subtle digs at each other in recent months.
Cohen asked Conover to address DeSorbo’s past complaints on Summer House, where she implied that he was not always supportive of her career. In one episode filmed before their split, DeSorbo even questioned whether she was dating a “secret hater.”
“I was obviously surprised when she left me,” Conover admitted. “I think I’m just kind of focused on moving forward.”
Dismissing rumors about their relationship, Conover continued, “Her side of things convinced her that the breakup was going to go a certain way. Through choices she made afterward, things turned on her.”
Public Reactions and Social Media Back-and-Forth
While Conover maintains he has moved on, DeSorbo has subtly addressed their breakup on social media. She recently liked a post about dating a man who “brings nothing to the table,” fueling speculation that it was directed at Conover.
Conover also accused DeSorbo and “her band of friends” of spreading negativity. “I want to encourage America to never act like [them]. I think it’s disgusting,” he added.
DeSorbo Denies Cheating Allegations
Amid speculation surrounding their split, DeSorbo took to her Giggly Squad podcast in February to deny cheating allegations.
“The narrative just took a turn really quickly: That I had cheated. That I broke up with him, like, a week ago and moved on with some new guy,” she stated. “Let me say this here and now: I did not move on with some new guy. I’m single.”
She further clarified, “I don’t have a new boyfriend. I did not cheat on my ex-boyfriend. And it was a full month that we were broken up before I said anything.”
Castmates Weigh In
Some of Conover’s Southern Charm castmates have also voiced opinions about DeSorbo’s commitment to the Bravo reality series. During the Season 10 finale on March 20, Shep Rose criticized DeSorbo for not fully engaging with the show.
“I think it’s total f—ing bulls–t that Paige didn’t go on one single trip while they were dating,” Rose, 44, said. “I couldn’t get away with that if I had a girlfriend, I’ll tell you that much.”
