Rihanna has landed in India in preparation for her private performance at the pre-wedding festivities of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant in Jamnagar, Gujarat.
Accompanying the 36-year-old singer are her numerous suitcases, a topic she humorously discussed with her fans on Instagram on Thursday (February 29).
Recent footage captured Rihanna’s arrival in Jamnagar for the event, where she is scheduled to perform a compilation of her greatest hits. This marks her first live performance since Super Bowl LVII.
The renowned pop icon is accompanied by her sizable luggage, which she amusingly addressed to her followers on social media.
A video shared on the day of her arrival depicted a procession of carts pulled by a transport vehicle, each loaded with large boxes hidden under a tarpaulin.
After a fan shared the clip on Instagram, one commenter humorously asked, “What did she bring with her? A folding house?”
Rihanna spotted the comment and quipped, “The stage couldn’t fit in my carry-on.”
In addition to Rihanna, Ambani and Merchant’s pre-wedding celebrations will feature performances by renowned artists such as Arijit Singh, Diljit Dosanjh, B Praak, Pritam, Hariharan, and Ajay-Atul.
The guest list for the event includes notable figures like Mark Zuckerberg, Shah Rukh Khan, Ivanka Trump, Hillary Clinton, Bill Gates, Rajinikanth, Salman Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, and Disney CEO Bob Iger.
At Mukesh Ambani’s daughter Isha’s wedding in 2018, Beyoncé was invited to perform at the event. The subsequent year, during the marriage of Reliance industry head Mukesh Ambani’s eldest son Akash, the pre-wedding celebrations in Switzerland showcased live performances by Chris Martin of Coldplay and The Chainsmokers.
