NBA star Anthony Edwards has agreed to give sole physical and legal custody of his daughter, Aubri Summers, to his ex, Ayesha Howard, after a lengthy legal battle.
According to court documents filed on April 7, Edwards told the Georgia Superior Court that he supports Howard having full custody. Howard, 38, has cared for the child alone since her birth in October 2024.
Edwards, 23, has asked the court to determine his child support obligations. He previously stated that he was not seeking custody or visitation, and that financial matters were the only concern.
In October 2024, Edwards requested a DNA test after Howard named him as the father. The test confirmed paternity in December. Howard then filed for sole custody in March 2025.
She also asked for reimbursement of pregnancy-related costs and attorney’s fees. Currently unemployed, Howard says she is depending on savings, family, and limited support from Edwards. (Howard also has a son with rapper Lil Baby).
Edwards’ girlfriend, Shannon Jackson, addressed the drama during an emotional Instagram Live in late 2024. She hinted at tension caused by the situation and spoke candidly to her followers.
The custody case was originally filed in California. However, Edwards succeeded in moving it to Georgia, where the most recent ruling was made.
