Filmmaker Karan Johar has officially announced the teaser launch and revised release date for Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh. This highly anticipated sequel to the 2019 film Kesari brings a lesser-known chapter of India’s freedom struggle to the forefront.

Johar shared the news on Instagram on March 22, 2025. The teaser will release on March 24, while the film will premiere in cinemas worldwide on April 18, 2025. The release was earlier scheduled for March 14 but was postponed to align better with the film’s promotional timeline.

Inspired by the book The Case That Shook the Empire, the film tells the story of C Sankaran Nair, a prominent lawyer and former President of the Indian National Congress. He challenged the British government in court following the Jallianwala Bagh massacre of 1919, demanding accountability for the tragedy.
